This is a photo of the Planning Committee from eight years ago. Since then, hair has been thinned, weight gained, weight lost, some members came, some went, but for the most part, this group has stayed relatively intact. Their planning for each year's March event begins in the late Summer and continues up to the day of the event. These people work for cheap. A beer here or there and nothing more apart from the satisfaction of putting together a successful event. The word "Volunteerism" wasn't around when these people first got together, but they epitomized its meaning. Hours are spent in meeting to contact and talk with venues, performers, sound technicians, venue volunteers, local law enforcement and our city fathers. Events of this size do not come off with out a tremendous amount of effort. That being said, odds are real good that the same people will reconvene a few months after this years event to plan on doing it all over again. |
