Welcome to the Fall Event!
This will be the inaugural Thoughts for Food Autumn Benefit for the Racine County Food Bank. This event, in concert with the Thoughts for Food benefit during the first week of March, now in its' 17th year, provides food to those who are needy through the Food Bank and food pantries throughout Racine County.
With the March event featuring venues in the River North area of Racine, the Autumn event will showcase venues in Downtown Racine.
There are now two events for a number of reasons, most notably the fact that there is a greater need now more than ever for food donations. That, coupled with the large size of a combined event, convinced the planning committee that two events would be easier to manage than one "mega" event.
Why do we need your help? Here's why: the Racine County Food Bank is a United Way Partner Provider that, EACH MONTH, distributes an AVERAGE of 70,000 pounds of food through hunger fighting agencies throughout Racine County. These affiliates include pantries, shelters, and community meal programs as well as several social service agencies that offer a meal with their programming. With our help, these affiliates provide 60,000 meals each month to our neighbors in need. We are seeing the demand for our services increasing at a time when resources are declining and food prices are at an all time high, making the event more important than ever for us.
So, check out the schedule, the venues and plan on being here on September 20th! A good time will be had by all and you'll be helping your neighbors at the same time!
